Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Mountain Bikes

XC Trail

It's all about the trail (and riding as much of it as possible.) Each Stumpjumper FSR delivers awesome suspension and geometry in a lightweight and highly efficient package so the rider can find the flow on more of his/her favorite trail in any given afternoon.

This sweet balance of trail competence and cross country speed may lead one to ask, "Is the Stumpjumper FSR a technical condition XC race bike or a fast all-mountain trail bike?" To which we answer, "Yes."

Key Features
  • FSR Suspension
Specialized FSR suspension technology reigns supreme in this newest iteration of our proven design. FSR suspension provides the best in plush, fully active suspension performance across any terrain. Because it’s fully active and independent, the suspension works perfectly under all conditions, and across all types of terrain, regardless of whether you’re braking, pedaling, or coasting. Further still, each frame component and the pivots that connect them are designed to withstand the roughest terrain with confidence.

  • Optimized Radius Engineering (O.R.E.)
The unique shape of the downtube and toptube on every Stumpjumper plays a major role in their strength, light weight, and performance. By manipulating the shapes of these tubes, Specialized engineer Jason Chamberlain aligned added material with high load areas (like the sides of the down tube), while simultaneously maximizing weld surface area for optimal stress distribution. By putting a longitudinal radius in the down tube as it approaches the head tube, the need for a gusset is eliminated, thus increasing strength (due to less welding) while decreasing weight (since less material is required.)

  • Transform
Our proprietary TransForm monocoque technology begins with two halves of an optimized shape developed by our industry-leading team of engineers. Both frame halves are formed in precision dies and hydraulic presses, then welded together and heat-treated, and finally TransForm’ed into the perfect chassis. There are three primary benefits from the TransForm process: (1) The lightest frame possible, without sacrificing strength or stiffness. (2) Stronger than a standard frame. The TransForm process can allow significant changes in wall thickness, putting strength where it’s needed. (3) Better handling and acceleration, due to increased levels of torsional rigidity that standard frames cannot achieve.

  • Shock Technology
All Stumpjumper FSR’s utilize custom, larger air volume rear shocks for a more linear compression, and better trail performance. The new, proprietary Septune shock and Triad shocks use ProPedal to enhance climbing efficiency while allowing the rider to turn off the feature for maximum bump performance through the rough. The Septune has 7 settings from fully open to high propedal, while the Triad has 3 settings; Fully active, high propedal, and lockout.
