Specialized Roubaix Road Bikes

Endurance Road

You no longer have to choose between riding with the fast group, and riding long distances in comfort. The Roubaix simultaneously combines high performance and advanced ergonomics - racers from the Domina Vacanze squad trusted it to race across the abusive cobblestones of Paris-Roubaix, and in the grueling Pyrenean Vuelta stages. While most riders won’t be searching for UCI points on their Roubaixs, all will be glad they found a riding partner that can take them longer and further on their favorite roads

Key Features
  • FRAME DESIGN
Developed specifically for the Roubaix line, the Endurance Geometry offers a genuinely improved collection of handling traits that improve rider comfort and decrease fatigue, all without compromise to speed, efficiency, or aerodynamics.

Nimble yet stable, the Roubaix geometry features a slightly more generous wheelbase than many typical race bikes, while retaining traditional trail. Trail is the measurement of how much the “contact patch” of the front wheel "trails" behind the steering axis and is the combination of the head angle (steering axis) and fork offset. By reducing head angle we increase the front center of the Roubaix; by increasing the offset (or “rake”) of the fork, we achieve the optimal trail.

Trail is the most critical dimension in determining how a bike steers. Not enough trail and the bike will “oversteer” and feel “nervous”. Too much trail and the handling will be characterized by “understeering” and a “sluggish” ride. Roubaix has virtually identical trail to the other race bikes in our line.

Due to the incrementally longer wheelbase (achieved through slight increases in both front center and rear center). The Roubaix geometry allows the rider to “carve” turns with unparalleled predictability. By building and road-testing numerous frame/fork prototypes, we balanced wheelbase and trail to achieve our goal of a nimble yet stable handling bike...the perfect partner for a long day in the saddle.

  • ZERTZ
Over the course of a ride, vibrations can take their toll on a rider, sapping comfort, energy, and focus. The goal of Zertz technology is to minimize vibrations transmitted to the rider, accomplished through elastomeric inserts in the fork, handlebar, seatstays, and seatpost. The result is a smoother, more comfortable ride. 1.3.4. Zertz vibration-damping elastomer inserts are found in F.A.C.T. carbon forks, F.A.C.T. carbon seat stays, and F.A.C.T. carbon post. ride.

  • ZERTZ HANDLEBAR
Similar to an engine motor mount, this ingenious and effective innovation employs a proprietary damping material between the handlebar clamping area and the stem and in special voids formed into stays, fork legs, and seatpost. The material has been proven to isolate vibrations and reduce transmission to the rider, decreasing fatigue and increasing comfort, without compromising rigidity. The end result is a rider that can go longer and faster and arrive at that finishing climb stronger and fresher than ever before.
