The western North Carolina area surrounding the cities of Asheville, Hendersonville, and Brevard has some fantastic bike riding areas. Two very popular local spots for mountain biking are Pisgah National Forest and DuPont State Forest.

The 2005 Icycle will be February 5th, 2005 at Fontana Village Resort in Fontana Dam NC. I would like to invite you and your friends out for a great weekend of mountain biking. As always there will be Cross Country Racing and the Night Downhill. There will be a Chili Supper between the events and an awards/after party celebration at the conclusion of the night downhill.

Single Event Entry is $15 and Dual Entry is $25 if postmarked before 1/30/05.

Day of Registration will be $20 for single and $30 for both

Chili Supper will be $5 per meal ticket

Cross Country Races
The Cross Country Race will begin at 12:00pm with a Mass Lemans Start for all Classes. The course will be approximately 7 miles long:

• Expert -3 laps
• Sport -2 laps
• Beginner -1 lap
• Single Speed 2 laps

Big Bike Class 1 lap ( Big Bikes must be 35lbs or greater, flat pedals, 10 inches of total travel)

Registration opens at 8:00am in the Adventure center and will close at 11:30 AM for XC and close 5:30 pm for the Downhill.

Night Downhill Races
The Night Downhill will begin between 6:30pm & 7:00pm. Shuttle will begin around 5:00pm for practice runs. Riders must have a 10 Watt Night Riding light or greater to be permitted on the course.
